They're so comfy and I want to use them now! But is it unsanitary? Is it okay?Is it bad to sleep with bed sheets I just bought without washing?
That's so gross. Wash the sheets before
using them because they're packaged in
a factory. I don't think the packers are
concerned with whether their hands are
sanitary, or the floors are clean when
they're folding them. Besides, most
new sheets have sizing and other
chemicals on them.
You've got to wash that stuff out!Is it bad to sleep with bed sheets I just bought without washing?
It wont kill you, but its not the best either.
Sheets from the package often have excess lint and dye. The fabric also sometimes has special finishes that allow it to be run thru machinery more easily. Like sizing or starch.
Wash them first. If you read the package or washing directions, I bet it will say the same.
If it is then I've been bad. I always just throw them on when I buy them. It's not like eating out of new dishes without washing them. I don't see that it could be in any way unsanitary. If it worries you just give a em a little spritz of lysol. Sweet dreams!
Edit: Wow you have a high percentage of best answers. You must be a genius! I wish your answers weren't private. I would love to read them.
It's not unsanitary, but might not be especially comfortable. I like to wash and dry them first to get the sizing out and it makes them much softer. If they are colored sheets, I'd want any excess dye out before sleeping on them. Might be irritating if your skin is at all sensitive.
i think it should be okay. they dont package up dirty sheets to sell in the stores, do they? :) i think most people who wash new sheets before using them just want them to be a little broken in an softer feeling
if there are wrapped in plastic they should be clean unwrapped ones you might want to wash them just a light cycle water only
I wouldn't, they don't smell nice when you take them out the packaging, plus on the packaging it says wash before use!
I'd wash them anyway because they may smell like plastic.
Idk i have..you just bought them so they should be clean
:)
