Do you use a doona or bed-sheets and blankets?

I tried the doona once and it's just not for me. I prefer sheets and blankets.Do you use a doona or bed-sheets and blankets?
Yep that's what I do also . Sheets and blankets , in winter I pile more blankets on and then gradually take them off as the warmer weather comes along.

Should I get bed sheets that are twin size or full?

I have 2 twin mattresses side by side. Should I 2 sets of twin sheets or one full size set?Should I get bed sheets that are twin size or full?
Well if you were going for the larger size, it would be bigger than a full. It would be easier to just get two sets of twin bottom sheets, the ones that go on the mattress. And then one queen sized top sheet and comforter.Should I get bed sheets that are twin size or full?
You can't use a full fitted sheet over 2 twin beds, but you could use a queen.

Here are the dimensions:

Flat Sheet: Twin 66';x96';, Full 81';x96';, Queen 90';x102';, King 108';x102';, Cal King 102';x110';

The following table shows

Mattress Size:

Twin 39'; x 75'; 66'; x 96'; 20'; x 26';

Full 54'; x 75'; 81'; x 96'; + 20'; x 26';

Queen 60'; x 80'; 90'; x 102'; + 20'; x 30';

King (Standard/Eastern) 76-78'; x 80'; 108'; x 102'; + 20'; x 36 to 40';

California King 72'; x 84'; 102'; x 110'; 20'; x 36 to 40';
I would either get two twins or one queen. I did the same thing in my room a few years ago and I used queen sheets. It worked out wonderfully and it was better than having the two twin sheets because there wasn't a gap in the middle.

  • I Need help finding Striped Orange Bed Sheets?

I've been surfing the internet now for what seems like hours. I'm looking for striped bed sheets. I can't seem to find ANY orange ones! I'd prefer thick orange stripes, but at this point, I'll accept anything! Anyone have any good sites or advice?

I could use anything about now.. Thanks!I Need help finding Striped Orange Bed Sheets?
    http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/ProductsHOM.鈥?/a>

That should work unless you have a king size bed, I think the largest available was queen.

It's called a cabana sheet set, it comes in orange stripe or lime stripe.

Oh yeah, they're ON SALE TOO!

There's a comforter set too if you wanted that also :-)I Need help finding Striped Orange Bed Sheets?
http://WWWdreamflipper.com go to the indoor/outdoor section. Put key words orange stripe in and have fun. Good luck!
i would check Sears they actually have some really nice bedding stuff
the Company Store has some great orange striped sheets! Good luck (and sleep tight once you have your dream sheets!)
Make your own- tie-dye is great and you can make any design you want. Good Luck
check out overstock.com, you may get lucky and it'll be cheap with usually good quality.

Also, try bizrate.com. they have everything and it'll let you comparison shop easily for the best deals.

Can twin bed sheets fit on an extra long twin mattress?

plain and simple, i dont think they can but im not sureCan twin bed sheets fit on an extra long twin mattress?
No.Can twin bed sheets fit on an extra long twin mattress?
An extra long twin bed is six inches longer than a standard twin. You might be able to get away with a standard flat sheet, it would just be a little short and wouldn't reach to the top of the bed. A standard fitted sheet wouldn't fit at all, because it couldn't reach over the top and bottom at the same time.
Hi, A standard twin is 39';widex75';length whereas a twin xl is 39';widex80'; length making it 6'; longer. Standard sheets would not fit properly so best to get the xl size. http://www.bestratedmattresses.com/twin-鈥?/a> Hope this helps.

  • I make bread the old fashioned way of kneading it and laying it out on bed sheets to rise...any other suggest?

Cleaner ideas other than a bed sheet covered. I would like to lay it out on something nonstick and doesn't need to be laundered just wiped down. It has to be large thoughI make bread the old fashioned way of kneading it and laying it out on bed sheets to rise...any other suggest?
i just cover the mixing bowl with a towel and put the bowl somewhere warm and out of a draft...

What is the highest thread count in bed sheets?

    I'm not 100% certain, but I think 500.

My sheets are Egyptian cotton, 400 count.

And they don't feel any different than regular sheets. What is the highest thread count in bed sheets?
I have both 1000 and 1200 thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets and I have seen 1500 thread count advertised. The sheets are super thick and super soft (The sheets get softer the more you wash them ) . In fact at this moment I won't get out of bed , due to the fact I'm way too comfortable . There are some really good deals on ebay at the moment . The sheets are definitely worth the hunt. ( I'm cheap , so I hunted quite a bit before buying)

Anything above 300 thread count are really nice . We bought a Mattress set this year that came with 300 tc and those sheets are really nice , but you can definitely tell the difference with the thread counts . I wouldn't go any lower , now that I've slept in these sheets. What is the highest thread count in bed sheets?
Anything over 200 thread count are considered high quality sheets, they will be soft after several washings and will not pill.

I have also had expierence with 300 thread count sheets and they are very nice and soft.

Linens n Things have a 400 thread count set for about 500.00

One thing I do know, as long as the thread count is 300...there is really no difference between designer and non-designer so I purchase my sheets at K-mart and get soft good quality sheets and save the money.

Egyptian cotton sheets are really nice as well and many places such as K-Mart carry sheets made from Egyptian Cotton and again are going to come in a variety of thread counts so make sure you check the thread count. I would not buy anything under 200 unless I really could not afford the 200.
    50,000 i do believe

Will using soap and cold water help rub out the blood stains on my bed sheets?

yes, also pour some hydrogen peroxide on the stains.:)Will using soap and cold water help rub out the blood stains on my bed sheets?
peroxide will get it out .. and baking soda will do the trick.;)Will using soap and cold water help rub out the blood stains on my bed sheets?
I always use huggies natural care baby wipes. These things are like magic. They take spaghetti sauce out of a white shirt and blood out of sheets. Blot away for a few seconds and it absorbs the yuckies. The catch is that you need to catch the stain while it is still moist. Sounds gross but it works.
    no soap just cold water
If you apply Hydrogen Peroxide to the stains it should remove them. It may take a few treatments if they have already been laundered. Good luck!
We use peroxide in the vet's office. It works like a charm. Quick too. And it does not leave a mark.
Not if the bullet riddled body is still there.
peroxide will bubble the blood loose

then immediately wash in cold water with regular detergent
Cold water - but only if you have not already subjected the sheets to hot water or the dryer.

Do you have your kids do weekly chores such as washing there bed sheets, cleaning the bathroom, etc?

I'm wondering how many parents do have there kids do weekly chores. My daughters 6%26amp;9yrs old do weekly chores my 9y.o daughter helps my 6y.o daughter teaching her how like to wash bedsheets using the washer and laundry.Do you have your kids do weekly chores such as washing there bed sheets, cleaning the bathroom, etc?
My teens know how to do the laundry, wash dishes, cook, vacuum, clean a bathroom, dust, sweep, take care of the animals.

They must clean their rooms and their bathroom..it has to be maintained weekly. They also help out doing their own laundry (if asked) and any other thing I might not have time to do. In this manner they will know how to maintain a clean home when they get their own, and they know helping out with the chores is just something families do. Everyone has responsibilities in my home...we might exchange some back and forth, but bartering is good to know how to do too.Do you have your kids do weekly chores such as washing there bed sheets, cleaning the bathroom, etc?
I find it very important to teach kids responsibility with chores. The kids had to save up for their rewards with points, not cash, however as they got older cash became more of the norm.

I started as soon as they could help, at around age two. Simple stuff like brush their teeth, things they had to do any way but rewarded them and kept a chart. Then I added things as they were able to.

A six year old can make their bed, pick up their toys, set the table for dinner, and clear the table. Dust the furniture, fold and put away the laundry and swifer the floors, plus pull weeds in the garden. Don't forget school work and keeping up their grades.

Your nine year old should be able to do all of the above plus the dishes, vacuum, clean the bathrooms, start laundry. There is not much they can't do, but I wasn't ready to let go of cutting the lawn until they were much older.

Mind you I wasn't that much of a slave driver. We had weekly and daily chores, and they got divided up equally, which meant that each child had about three things each week plus keeping up with their bed rooms. Plus if a child wanted to do more, they could take on more responsibility for greater reward, but they were not allowed to take it on for just one week, if they wanted more they had to take it on permanently or until they could justify needed to do less. We treated the house like the real world, and a real job.
To not teach your children that maintaining a household requires work is doing them a disservice. It teaches them responsibility and gives them a sense of ownership. I don't believe they should be paid for doing their chores because it takes away from the sense of responsibility. Though I do believe children should be given an age appropriate allowance.....because they need to begin to learn to manage / save money.
I don't have 'chores' but i'm still ordered to clean the whole house an a regular basis since my 'step mother' doesn't like to clean after herself... and i do my own laundry

How do you fold fitted bed sheets to keep them compact?

When I was little and they came out with fitted sheets I ask my mother the same question.Fold sheet in half, tuck one end of corner into other and straighten out.Do the same for the other corner. Then you will be folding in half again, tuck all corners into each other. You should now have a square. You can continue in the same way until it is flat and folded into a small square. Easy right. Not really it takes time.My mom was the original Donna Reed ';Mother knows best';How do you fold fitted bed sheets to keep them compact?
fold in 1/2 crosswise tucking 2 bottom corners in the 2 top....you now have 2 corners...tuck one corner into the other and fold the side in...fold this in 1/2 ...now you have a strip about 8'; to 12'; wide depending on the size of the sheet....now fold this strip in 1/2 crosewise 2 or 3 times....this is neat and very compact.....hope you understand what I was trying to say....it get easier w/ timeHow do you fold fitted bed sheets to keep them compact?
okay, fold the sheet in half. Tuck the corners inside each other so they match up. Then lay the sheet down. Fold over the edge where the corners are about 1/3 of the way in. Then fold over the other edge the rest of the way. Then fold it in half the long way, then in half again.
    Here's one method:

1 Slip your hand into 2 top corners of the sheet.

2 With one hand inside each of the top 2 corners, fold the sheet (right sides together). Slip each of the top corners into one of the bottom corners.

3 Lay sheet on bed or table. Arrange and fold the corners neatly. Turn in selvage edges enough to make 4 straight sides.

4 Fold in half, then in half again. (All four corners will be stacked together, and sheet will be in a long strip.

Then fold the long strip in half, then in half (or thirds, depending on the size of the sheet) again to make a square.

Sheet should be a compact, neat square.

5 Smooth and place on shelf.

    Here is another method:

STEP 1: Wash and dry your sheets before folding and storing them.

STEP 2: Remove sheets from dryer while they are still warm so that they do not wrinkle. If the sheets are already cool, put them back in the dryer with a moist cloth for a couple of minutes.

STEP 3: Put your right hand in the right top corner of the sheet, and fold the left top corner of the sheet over your right hand.

STEP 4: Keep holding the sheet with your right hand and gather up a bottom corner, folding it over the right hand as well.

STEP 5: Take the remaining corner and fold it over your right hand.

STEP 6: Fold the sheet into a square, then continue folding in half until you have reached the desired size.

It takes a little practice to get fast at doing either method.

  • Where can a company sell its torn/ripped bed sheets?

I work for a rental company that ends up with a lot of ripped and torn bed sheets. We want to know if there's any place that will buy or use these sheets so that we don't have to just throw them away. Does anyone know of companies that buy torn sheets?Where can a company sell its torn/ripped bed sheets?
Get out your yellow pages and look for consignment shops. I would call them and see if they will take them. If it is just a torn or rip. Have it repaired by someone in your family who sews. Those rips can be repaired before taking them to a consignment shop. Once they are repaired, think about giving them to a homeless shelter in your area. A shelter can always use torn or ripped bed sheets. Who cares about a tore as long as they are clean and in good condition.

What can i use to partition a room with other than bed sheets?

i'd like to partition a corner of a large room off for some plants in my living room. my first thought was to use some cheap king size bed sheets to make an about 8x8 ft area to contain light-intense plants, but i was wondering if anyone knew of anything offhand that would be cheaper? What can i use to partition a room with other than bed sheets?
Maybe you can find a portable room divider in a thrift shop, such as Goodwill. What can i use to partition a room with other than bed sheets?
I was gonna suggest a couple of nice screens that they sell just for the purpose of partitioning rooms, but they're more than a set of sheets. I don't think you can find anything cheaper. Try looking in your local discount/dollar store. There's one in my area that sometimes has sheet sets.

What kind of plants are you trying to hide anyway?

Experiences with best bed sheets and ones to avoid?

I'm trying to decide which bed sheets to get my boyfriend for Christmas. He has 100% pima/600? TC. I would like to spend no more than $75. I was thinking egyptian cotton/pima sateen. So, send some examples over my way of sheets that you have loved or hated so I know what to avoid. Links or names of stores would be great! Thank You!Experiences with best bed sheets and ones to avoid?
You can't go wrong with egyptian cotton, I wont sleep on anything else anymore. There really soft and comfortable. You can get those for way under $75 or way up 500. But for me , I have slept on regular sheets and the good stuff, can't go back.Experiences with best bed sheets and ones to avoid?
Anything 400 tc or over is good. Walmart has egyptian cotton sheets which are good.

Any thread count lower than 400 tends to get those little balls on them and aren't comfortable to sleep on. I only bought the 200 TC when my kids were little because I had to wash the sheets alot for twin beds and they changed the bedroom scheme so often.

What kind of bed sheets or pillow covers should I have that do not get cat hair stuck to them too easily?

I have a khakhi color cat . and his hair are all our my dark blue bed sheets and pillow covers. should I just use different color bed sheets or are there certain fabrics that are cat hair resistant. What kind of bed sheets or pillow covers should I have that do not get cat hair stuck to them too easily?
Satin bed covers leave hairs just sliding off them. What kind of bed sheets or pillow covers should I have that do not get cat hair stuck to them too easily?
I think silk or satin to answer your question. Me personally, I would take a different approach, I'd get rid of the cat!
Get your bed sheets scotch guarded. Try taking your cat to a professional groomer once a month to get a haircut and groomed. This should cut back on the cat dander. The cat obviously has choosen your bed a nap area. Cat hair goes where it wants when it wants, etc... Get one of those lint roller things and groom your bedsheets daily.
    silk maybe

Do you put your bed sheets outside for the sun to kill the bed bugs?

my mom puts the mattress outside and does it kill the bed bugs and my mom washes the bed sheets does it kill the bed bugs too and i want to know how to kill the bed bugsDo you put your bed sheets outside for the sun to kill the bed bugs?
    Absolutely not!!

Your mattress and box spring if infested, need to be encased in an lab tested and entomologist approved encasement that restricts the movement of bed bugs form the internal bedding to the outside and visa versa.

As far as your sheets and bedding goes, simply washing them in the washer on the “hot wash” will kill them. Or, placing them in the dryer on “HIGH” for at least 15min (though 30 is better) will do the job as well.

The most importnat thing to remember that the name “bed bug” is misleading, though about 70% of any infestation will be present in the bed area (mattress, box spring, frame, headboard ect.) they are more than likely spread throughout the rest of the room.

YOU NEED TO CALL A QUALIFIED PEST CONTORL OPERATOR!!

Bed bugs are not job which can be handled on your own with cans of Raid purchased at home depot.

Do you put your bed sheets outside for the sun to kill the bed bugs?
I've never heard of putting them outside to get rid of bed bugs, but I guess it's possible! Bedbugs are in every bed, no matter how clean you are. It's just natural, but they're harmless. I think they live on the skin cells that slough off your body when you toss and turn. Anyways, just wash the sheets regularly should get rid of them, till you sleep again! Also you, can periodically vacuum the mattress. I'm not sure how effective it is, but it makes me feel a bit better at least!
washing the sheets will kill bed bugs.. there is a spray you can buy for the mattress... if you spray the mattress and then put it outside to dry it should work. good luck
it doesn't kill all but you can use something i forgot what it was called then you let it dry in the sun for a few mins

How do i get my milks stains out of the the bed sheets?

My 1 yr old son sleeps with me frequently and manages to spill his formula and now milk on the bed sheets - they are disgusting - But I cant get the stains out.No wife to help me out here...How do i get my milks stains out of the the bed sheets?
Depending if they are colored or white, this is my suggestion for you:

White- in your washing machine start the machine with hot water and add **Oxy Clean, then add some detergent to the tub.

Let it fill about half way through and then add your sheets.

Let it agitate for about 6 mins, and then turn off your machine and let it soak for an hour or so.

Resume washing, turning it back on.

If it is colored: use hot water first to fill tub, add Oxy Clean, then switch to warm water and follow steps above.

    The stain will come out!

    Good luck!

**Oxy Clean works best when first dissolved with hot water.

**Oxy Clean is a powder cleaner, which can be found in the laundry section of your store, if you didn't know what that was.

Of course they are milk stains...Yes blame it on your son to cover it up.

What are the top quality brands of bed sheets?

What are some top quality brand of sheets? What are the top quality brands of bed sheets?
JCPennys carries a nice line of good quality bed sheets. What are the top quality brands of bed sheets?
I can't recommend a particular brand but I can say that 300 thread counts and up will give you good quality sheeting but 800 and up will give you great and we all want to be as comfortable as possible. Invest in the highest thread-count sheets you can afford. The higher the thread count, the softer the sheets.
The topd brand of sheets I have personally come across are the comphy co. brand sheets. They wash extremely well and are the softest sheets you will ever sleep on. I have purchased many sets for our home and for friends as gifts and they all love them. I highly recommend checking them out. I purchased my online at www.ruvalonline.com
    Egyptian cotton, 600 thread count.

No ';pills,'; (tiny clumps and knobs) ever.

A bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.
My favorite sheets are made by frette bed sheets they are a little more expensive then most sheets but, I don't mind spending the extra $$$ for something I will be sleeping on every night.
Im not sure of the brands.Try and buy anything above 200+ thread count Egyptian cotton sheets.Do you have 'Dorma' where you are? They're pretty good.

How often should bed sheets be washed?

weekly. or more often if they get dirty during the week (like from menstruation or messy sex, etc.)How often should bed sheets be washed?
I wash mine once a week. But I suppose it would be okay to wash them once every 2 weeks. How often should bed sheets be washed?
i wash mine every other month wether they need it or not
2 times a week or right after doing the nasty.
i believe bed sheets should be washed atleast once a week or when they become soiled
    Every week.
I change my sheets every other day. When you sleep, you toss %26amp; turn %26amp; you are shedding old dead skin. Plus I have 5 little hairy kids sleeping with me who gets a bath at least twice a week, me twice a day. Nothing feels better than going to bed on a clean set of sheets.
    at least once a week!
    How dirty do you get
At least every other week, more often if something happens, like you spill something on them or whatever.
when they get dirty :p jokes

every couple of weeks, unless you spill something on them obviously?
They should be washed at least once a month. :)
I wash mine once a week.
if you sleep on them or if you do something else it varies!
As often as they get dirty; at least once a week.
At the very least once a week
    Once a week
I wash mine once a week.....my husband is a sweaty one.
once per week according to kim and aggie
You should wash them once a week. I suppose that could vary, though.
depends on what youre doing but i change the sheets twice a week, nothing better than a good nights sleep and fresh sheets right out of the dryer nice and warm ...lol hope that helps , im tired now .
2 times a week so u wont get bed bugs!!!!!!!
I wash mine weekly, of course I only sleep on them 4 hours a day, if I'm lucky...
I wash mine every week but remake my bed with fresh ones about twice a week.
if young guy every day if adult every week if girl then ony ever so offen
twice a week, or more if you get peter tracks or slug trails on em after sex

Anyone know what bed sheets are wrinkle free and pet hair won't stick to.?

When I was first married (a long time ago) I was given a great set of bed sheets that were wrinkle free and pet hair would not stick to, now I am not sure what they were made of. I have tried Egyptian Cotton and Sateen but its not either of them. Anyone have any ideas? They were also very cool in the summer.Anyone know what bed sheets are wrinkle free and pet hair won't stick to.?
Anything 100% cotton wrinkles more than a mix of cotton and polyester. Some manufactures use more polyester than cotton but this can be a bit non-porous (sweaty) in hot weather!

The best is 50-50 cotton poly mix. Bamboo in the mix is having a growing demand - it's really luxurious. Zellers and The Bay are stocking it.

When completely drying in the dryer, listen for the buzzer and get them out, shake and fold. Use softener and this will stop the static which attracts hairs.

Best of all, use softener but don't dry completely, only say for tem minutes. Get there at the buzzer, shake, fold and hang on a hanger to dry. Helps with your electricity bill and the environment.

I've only used a dryer since moving into a townhouse (can't hang outside) but drying on the line is the ever!

It all depends on the time you have, working, not working etc.Anyone know what bed sheets are wrinkle free and pet hair won't stick to.?

What color would match with these bed sheets?

    http://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/78/48/57/28/鈥?/a>

I have the same bed in the picture [%26amp; the furniture].

I just don't know what color I would paint the walls. I do not want to paint the walls that brown color.

The pink is pretty bright. The green is bright but it's a bit toned out.

    Help please.

_KWhat color would match with these bed sheets?
That is gorgeous!! Why don't you use a soft sage green, lighter than the color in the curtains. Green is soothing for a bedroom and also versatile. What color would match with these bed sheets?
What about picking up that creamy yellow color in the bedding and then using the darker colors as accent colors?

    Very pretty!
What about the gold color? You could even do a two toned effect by using a matte paint, and then painting a clear gloss to make stripes, so it's the same color...not too overpowering but gives it depth and richness. Then you could use the pink or green as accent colors in the room with drapes and accessories. Really pretty stuff by the way!
I actually like the brown in the picture but if you don't want to go dark id go with the gold/tan color needs to be a neutral so that it doesn't clash with the bedding.
I'd go with a nice medium soft MELON color. I think that would go with all the pink-orange colors in the bedding.
I think that I would try to find a green shade that would match it.
As Melanie stated, a melon would be nice, or perhaps the golden color I think I saw on the pillow. You could also go with earth tones, for a more neutral wall and keep the colors in the decor.
I would paint the walls that tan/goldish color that is in the pattern of the sheets
Go with the blueish color within the detail of the accent pillows. Its a subtle blue, not enough to scare away the next buyer of your house either!

Does anyone know how to get rid of pilling from sateen bed sheets?

If you mean sateen cotton sheets, try a safety razor - it works best. I put the fitted sheet on the bed, making sure that it is pulled tight, then run the razor over it until the pills are gone. Also, I have a lint brush handy to remove the fuzz that is created. This works really well, and seems to last for quite some time.Does anyone know how to get rid of pilling from sateen bed sheets?

Well for some things like fleece I would use a razor to gently cut away the pilings but I would be very careful when it's for satin.
    use an iron

Will toothpaste stain bed sheets/pillow cases?

I've been putting toothpaste on my acne, because I've heard it helps to clear it up. The thing is, I just got a new bed spread, sheets, etc, and I don't want to risk staining it. Will toothpaste stain the sheets and/or pillowcases? Will toothpaste stain bed sheets/pillow cases?
I've done this and it has worked well. I place a towel across my pillow case and that has helped. Also, once I've placed the toothpaste on a blemish, I place toilet paper over it so that it doesn't smear off so easily! Will toothpaste stain bed sheets/pillow cases?
try honey and cinnamon it works better and doesn't stain
no it doesnt stain your sheets it washes off
    It can, yes.

On another note though, try to avoid the old toothpaste trick. It can lead to some worse problems than acne, or even aggravate the acne itself. Buy a clay masque for overnight reduction, it's much much much better for your skin.
It might if you are using toothpaste with food coloring in it.
NO! And if does get on your sheets you should be able to use shout out of a laundry stain remover before you wash them and it will bring it right out!

Making splatter paint bed sheets and pillow cases?

If you could can you give me suggestions on what type of paint, prices, or if you have a better way of making splatter paint bed sheets/pillow cases please tell me!

I'm redoing my whole room in the splatter paint style so any ideas are greatly appreciated!!Making splatter paint bed sheets and pillow cases?

or design your own with fabric paints

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?i鈥?/a>Making splatter paint bed sheets and pillow cases?
You need to get the kind of paint that comes in little bottles for shirt painting, they can be found at WalMart in the sewing/crafts section or any crafts or fabric store. Make sure you wash the sheets and pillow cases before you paint them, and no fabric softener added because the paint won't stick if you use it. Good luck, it sounds like a fun project!
Most any type of oil based paint can be used. However, most craft store sell paint specifically for fabric(around $4 per bottle). These paints are not toxic (unless swallowed) and if you follow the manufacturers instructions for setting the paint, you have no worries about it when you wash it.
you will need fabric paint for this you can order from here or go to Wal mart or Michael and you can buy them individually as well you don't need to purchase the whole lot unless you are planning to do other things with it .

i think instead of paint you should use fabric dye.

this way there won't be clumpy spots and it will be less expensive.

    hope this helps

How often should bed sheets be washed to avoid dust?

I wash the bed sheets we sleep in every other week with laundry soap, Clorox2 for colors free%26amp;clear, and hot water. The guest beds I try to remember to do at least once a month. If they have been slept in I wash when my guests leave. Pillow cases on those beds I try to replace or wash if it has been sometime. Otherwise I don't usually rewash when company comes again. Our house has a lot of guests though so the sheets are washed often. If you make the bed the sheets shouldn't get dusty. If your house is prone to bugs (like our house being close to a woody creek) I would wash sheets more frequently. Bugs will hide wherever! How often should bed sheets be washed to avoid dust?
In the guest room, I wash them about once a month. The top blanket once every two weeks. In our bedroom I wash all our bedding at least once a week in hot water and bleach (or color safe bleach). With bedding that you frequently use, you need to wash often because of dust mites. They are gross. Look at pictures of them.. EWWW!!How often should bed sheets be washed to avoid dust?
I wash ours usually once a week sometimes twice. My daughter has a dust allergy so she also has her mattress covered with a dust mattress cover and that seems to help. Also we wash them on the hottest wash cycle~ that is what really kills the dust mites.
If you have a problem with dust, wash the sheets once a week in hot water. That will kill the dustmites. Things such a covers or quilts can go once a month.
In my bedroom I wash the bedding about once a month but we sleep on them so no dust. In the guestroom, I wash them and leave them on clean and only rewash when I know company is coming so they smell dryer fresh where they sleep.
I say once a week to keep dust mites down. The more dead skin flaked off from your body the more dust mites you'll have and be breathing in etc..
One can never avoid dust. However it depends how much activity your sheets get?
i wash my sheets once a week in summer and twice a month in winter

  • Why are higher thread count bed sheets so good?

I have seen them listed on ebay with over 1000 count thread. Why are higher thread count bed sheets so good?
The higher the thread count, the softer they feel. Why are higher thread count bed sheets so good?
Cotton is a woven fabric. The number of threads used in weaving are counted by the square inch. For example a thread count of 180 means a weave of 100 vertical threads per square inch, called the warp, and 80 horizontal threads, called the weft. The thickness of the thread is also a factor in this equation. The finer the thread the more of them there will be in one square inch, giving a higher thread count.

Another thing to be aware of is ply. Two ply fabric is made by twisting the yarns together before weaving, whereas single ply uses a single thread. Using two ply yarn doubles the thread count. So to compare the two remember that a single ply with a thread count of 100 is equal to a two ply with a count of 200. Thread count can go as high as 800 or 1000 threads, but you can buy perfectly good bed linen with a thread count of 180. The term percale means a thread count of at least 100.

A higher thread count is not necessarily better because the higher the thread count the thinner and more delicate the fibers will be, unless it is 2 ply. Since 2 ply doubles the thread count this makes the cotton heavier, not necessarily what you want in bed sheets.

A thread count of between 100 and 400 is really quite sufficient, there is simply no need to pay for anything more. If you are buying pure linen bed sheets, rather than cotton, a thread count of 100 is good, since linen has thicker fibers.

Of course a high thread count is not the only determinant of quality in bed linen. The treatment that the cotton fiber has received, for example mercerizing, and the way in which the bed linen is woven and finished, all contribute to the quality of the finished product. (Mercerizing is a chemical treatment which produces increased strength and a sateen finish which accepts dyes more readily.)

depends on what you like. Higher thread counts have a better hand. I used to be a high thread count junkie...i always thought the higher the better and then I found these bamboo sheets at Target. They are sooo soft, and they are lightweight and i live in Texas, i'm addicted. Now when I am washing my bamboo's and use some of my fancy high thread count sheets, I feel really claustrophobic!

    http://www.target.com/Bamboo-Sheet-Set-T鈥?/a>
the tread count is the number of treads in a square inch - which means the higher the count the tighter the treads are sown - the higher the count the better the quality - the more durable they are and yes the softer they will be
The higher the count- the more threads

    - the softer touch

    - the longer wear

    - the more $$$$$
Softer on the skin, and will not lint up as much after several washings.

I want to dye my bed sheets?

I have an awesome set for my oh so comfy bed. The whole thing (sheets, duvet cover, bedskirt, shams) all 100% cotton 200 thread count. They are a very very light blue. Will dying them a deep, rich color have a good result?I want to dye my bed sheets?
Yes, because they are 100% cotton which takes dye well. I would use more dye than indicated and do the duvet cover, bedskirt and fitted and flat sheets in separate loads for the best color saturation. The shams and pillowcases can probably go in a load together if they are standard size. I would also set the dye by using vinegar in the rinse cycle and then every time you launder the pieces so that you don't get fade. I would use the hot water/washing machine method, check them frequently so that you don't have fabric bunched up where the dye can't get to and heat set the color in the dryer.I want to dye my bed sheets?
To get a good result, they have to be really clean and free of fabric softener. Read the instructions on the box and don't overload it. I have had good results when I have dyed something.
Becareful to wash them well after the dye has set so that they won't stain anything else, such as the matress if they get wet (sweat in your sleep or spill a drink of water)

If bed sheets are the same color as the walls, is that too much of one color?

The comforter is black and the walls are cream. There are no other prominent colors in the room, so my only thought for sheets are white or cream. If I do cream sheets is that too much of a blend? If bed sheets are the same color as the walls, is that too much of one color?
thats should be fine, cos the black in the comforter will break up the bulk of colour.white might look awkward against the cream as they dont really go. hope that helped :)If bed sheets are the same color as the walls, is that too much of one color?
Cream sheets will be okay because the black comforter will be over them anyway or at least covering the majority of them to break up the creams. Possibly throw in another color into the room to break it up more? Even another color of sheets would work if you wanted more color, if not, cream is fine.
Cream sheets would be fine. Also white sheets are always okay.

How often do you change/wash your bed sheets?

and how often do you buy new ones to replace them or how many sets do you have? How often do you change/wash your bed sheets?
Once a week to wash and dry in sun - it smells g-o-o-od

I have two summer sets for hot weather and two good old fashioned flannelette for winter cosy

I replace them as they wear out - usually after 4-5 years

BTW a good way to store them is roll up your sheets and one pillowcase when there are two of them and place them all inside of one of the pillowcases. When you need a set of sheets they are all there ready to make your bed without scratching all over the linen press or cupboard How often do you change/wash your bed sheets?
At least once a week. But based on you own habits, and lifestyle, you may need to change them more or less often. Do you wear Pj's to bed? do you take a shower just before you go to bed? do you have pets? do you eat in bed? do you take naps? etc. I like to keep 2 sets for the warm season, and at least 2 for the cold season.
I wash every week and change my illow cases two times a week. I am into bedding big time so I buy a lot of sheet sets. I have about12 sets. I have the silk ones for the winter and use a lot of Only good cotton for the summer. I change the color scheme in my bed room a lot.
i wash every month and only have two pairs the only time i change them to be honest if they get like a really noticable stain
I wash mine once a week, I have 4 sets %26amp; I buy new ones at least every three yrs or so.=)
Once a week, sometime two weeks. I was the pillows too.
    Once a week.
    At least once a week.

the bedspread is a very asian theme, so you should use that color pallet, maybe a like green if you want it to stand out, blueish gray or light blue would look GREAT..

hope it helped :DWhat color would match with these bed sheets?
I would keep it neutral, maybe a white, or off white, or a light gray, and use red, orange, and yellow as accents to a give warmth, or green, purple to give a cool look to the room. also using a neutral wall color allows for easier change for each season.
i would paint it that baby blue color..with maybe that tannish blanket color..for like trimming..
I would say a bluish gray color. It would like nice.
    A light purple

What is causeing our light colored bed sheets, pillow shams, bath towels etc...to turn colors?

After my Fiance' got done washing her face she grabed a Towel to dry her face off and she noticed it turned colors like bleach was poured on to it. What in the world could this be????What is causeing our light colored bed sheets, pillow shams, bath towels etc...to turn colors?
Some cosmetic can do this. Acne treatments with benzoyl peroxide will bleach fabrics as well.

Sweat can cause discoloration over time as well. What is causeing our light colored bed sheets, pillow shams, bath towels etc...to turn colors?
It can be her make-up or if she is using any facial/acne products or stuff that has hydrogen peroxide in it, those will bleach it out also.

There's no way to really get the color back. I've got plenty of shirts with a make-up bleach stain around the collar.
Something in the soap you are using is having a reaction to the fibers in the bed sheets and towels. Next time try washing these items before using them.
Maybe you are washing in water that's too hot. Or did you use some other type additive such as OxiClean? It's best to wash light colors with like Colors

Once a week, once a month...............How often do you change the bed sheets and duvet cover?
You're supposed to change them???How often do you change the bed sheets and duvet cover?
Sheets gets changed weekly. This is a chore that I insist on being part of my cleaning routine. One does not necessarily have to put the same sheets back on and I would suggest not to. Have an additional set available. In doing so you will provide longevity to your sheets not to mention a healthier sleeping environment. Believe it or not body sweat and grease from the hair can ruin sheets quicker than washing them weekly. As for the duvet/comforter I change them seasonally but air them out every couple of months while in use. You did not mention pillows. They should be replaced every 3-4 months without a protective case on them (not a piloow case)and every 6-8 months with one on. Dust mites love pillows and bacteria from colds, viruses etc gather there more easily.
Once a week is usually ok if you bathe or shower every day. However it does no harm to change your pillow cases in between times as these have breath, and maybe saliva on them and they feel nice and fresh on your face and head when they are changed.

Looks like a blue/gray would work but I don't know that you would want to paint to match your sheets. Over time you want to change your sheet colors and decor and if you lock into a wall color for every sheet set you buy, you will endlessly be painting. Pick a color instead that would be neutral and then you can pick whatever sheet color you would like when the feeling hits you. Sheets are expendable and don't last long. Wall colors are more involved and long lasting.
i would go with a greyish blue like the colors of the pillow cases

or even a brown that matches the sheets

if u dont like either idea u can take a pick of the set and match it up at any walmart

Lilac or mauve if you like those kinda colors but I would go with an off white or light tan. Something to lighten up the room...
Dark sky blue -light violet - light purple-light cream- Dark gray

Need help with folding fitted bed sheets?

I know there is a easy way of doing this but I can't remember how to do it could you give me some help.Need help with folding fitted bed sheets?
Put one corner of the sheet on your fist, then follow the hem around to the next corner and fold it over the first, then the third and the fourth.

Now, straighten it smooth and lay it down and fold in the flaps so that you have a rectangle.

Fold that in half and keep folding until it is the size you want for storage.

I can fold mine without laying it down and without someone helping me but it took some practice.

Just wad them up in a ball and stick them wherever you put them. That's what I do.

my mom was a stickler about this! so take your sheet and fold it in half ,take two of your four corners and tuck them inside the other two corners, now take one of the two corners left and tuck it into the other, now you have four corners tucked together, lay it flat and fold.good luck
Its impossible, I just wad them up and put them where no one can see
I just usually fold them as neat as I possible can, or just put them back on the beds as soon as they're dry.

I'm in a time crunch!!! I need to dye a set of bed sheets solid purple TONIGHT! They have to be perfectly dry by tomorrow morning. But I have no idea how to do it! Please help!!! : )How do you dye bed sheets solid colors?
If you MUST get it done by tonight, I assume whatever due you have is suitable, just do it in the washing machine. My cousin used to dye small rugs this way.. You should be fine. This is what I read on a website though:

';The best way to dye white cotton to another solid color is by using Procion MX dye in the washing machine. Purchase this type of dye by mail-order from any of the dye suppliers listed on my ';Sources for Supplies'; page. (Here is a direct link to Procion MX dye at Fiber-Arts.com.) Follow the instructions for dyeing in the washing machine.

    Do not use all-purpose dye on your sheets. All-purpose dye is more difficult to use and will bleed a little every time it is washed.';

Hope this helped! How do you dye bed sheets solid colors?
II saw ';Rose's'; answer and that's what I was going to say. Just to add one point. If the bed sheets you have are brand new and never washed before, you should wash them first because new material is often treated with finishes that are intended to repel stains etc.

If they're brand new, just wash them in a short cycle with a little detergent. When you put them in the dryer do not use a fabric softener sheet. Your fabric will be ready for dyeing as per Rose's answer.

If the sheets are not new, you can just go ahead and dye them.

    Have fun!

P.S. You can find RIT dyes at Walmart too.
Rit dye. It's available at most craft stores and walmart. You open up a package or two (depending on the size of what you are dying and how dark you want it) and throw it in the washing machine with your sheets. You don't add any soap, so the dye powder and the water mix together and get sloshed around in the washing machine to create a nice even dye.

Check the box for washing and drying instructions after that, but I've used this before and it's worked really well. After you've completed the whole process, you can re-dye using the same method if you want a darker or brighter version of the color.

    Good luck!

I wash mine every 5 days. If the weather is hot I change

I just want to add something to Michelle S's post. If you use a mattress cover you won't have to do that. Just change that once a month. Try to wash your sheets once a week. If you want try twice. But if you have a lot of sheet sets I would do twice a week.
I wash our bed sheets once a week. Make sure that when you change your sheets that you vacuum off the bed. This gets rid of any possible dust mites in the mattress.

No less than once a week. It does`nt take long to put them in a machine.

How often should you replace bed sheets?

I have found that the bottom sheet wears out faster than the top sheet. I buy neutral colors and usually when the elastic on the fitted sheets stretches and cracks, I use it for something else and go buy another new fitted sheet. Since most of my sheets are neutral, it is very easy to find a new matching sheet. I have found that some sheets will last a couple years and others not quite as long. It depends on how much you have spent and how often they are cleaned. Any fraying or stretched elastic for me would be a grounds for getting rid of the sheets. I would, however, think of someway to use the material that is still worth using. How often should you replace bed sheets?
When they start to come apart at the seams or get too thin or rip. Or, when you get really bored with them. Don't ever throw them away, put them in a cupboard and they make great drop cloths for when you paint or when you need to put dust covers over the furniture. How often should you replace bed sheets?
replace them how? Most people have more than one set. Do you mean how often should you change them? If so, that would depend on how often you sleep on them, what you do on them, and how often you wash.
Every twenty-five years. They will last you this long if you take care and laundy them at lest once a week or once every two weeks according to your care label.
Whenever you feel that they are too worn thin, tattered, or stained/discolored to keep using them.
if you mean how often you should change them - when you feel/ smell you should:)

I change mine evry two weeks. I would hate it they would stink!

    vinegar or nail varnish remover
Since the sheets will be ruined anyway if you do nothing, you

have nothing to lose by trying to remove it with nail-polish remover. Start with a small area first and see how it goes.
Try and remove the excess and soak the sheet in white spirit overnight then try scrubbing it out in the morning with a hard brush. Then soak it again and then put it in the washing machine with a stain remover, you are going to need lots of patience and scrubbing it might be easier to buy a new one- good luck.
you can use white spirits or your own nail varnish remover, or you can freeze it off, with a couple of ice cubes in a plastic bag rub over the stain then scrape off with a blunt knife
try soaking the affected area in remover, then put through machine when stain has lifted

  • What do you prefer - Satin or silk bed sheets? And what's the difference between them two?

I love pure 100% cotton sheets. What do you prefer - Satin or silk bed sheets? And what's the difference between them two?
Silk items are made from silk. It is spun by a silk worm and, although luxurious, is fairly fragile. You have to be careful with laundering because heat can destroy silk.

Satin is more durable but not as luxurious.

How can i cleen the huge juice stain off my bed sheets?

i fell asleep with a cup with cranberry juice in my hand.... i guess spilt it and it's on my white bed sheets what the best way to get it out?

Bleach? How can i cleen the huge juice stain off my bed sheets?
i'd use color safe bleach even though the sheets are white. I cant stand the smell of regular bleach.

You could also try a mixture of powder detergent and water (make a paste) and rub it onto the stain. Let sit for about a half hour and then wash it.How can i cleen the huge juice stain off my bed sheets?
Spray some brand of stain removal on such as ';Spray and Wash'; and then wash in washer with Detergent and Bleach in HOT water. Before you DRY check for stain. If stain remains repeat process....once you dry any stain in a dryer it is there for good. So keep washing til stain is gone.
Try a mixture on hydrogen peroxide and water (1/3 peroxide 2/3 water). Then pour it over the stain (enough to saturate). Not sure if it will work but it won't hurt the sheets. It has worked for me on a lot of other stains.
Using a bleach would be the best thing to do, since it is a white cloth.
    Sure, it's ';juice';. ;)

How often should i change my bed sheets?.?

I CHANGE MY BED SHEETS EVERY OTHER DAY, IS THIS OK. OR HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BE CHANGING MY SHEETS.

MY FRIEND SAID I'M NUTS I'M WEARING OFF MY SHEETS BUT MY MOM TAUGHT ME THAT IT WAS OK. I'M I GOING TO BE OK IF I DONT CHANGE IT BUT ONCE A WEEK, OR WOULD THAT BE STRETCHING MY HYGIENE ISSUES. HELP....How often should i change my bed sheets?.?
Well, people don't normally change their sheet quite this often, but in some cases, like the gentleman answering before me (Jimmy), it is a good idea.

If it is not bothering you the frequency of which you are changing your bedding then don't worry about it.How often should i change my bed sheets?.?
well, i guess that would depend on what type of use the sheets are getting---it becomes a hygiene issue if you are engaged in sexual activity and then dont change the sheets for a few days. I usually change on Monday and again on Friday, and/or after any 'activity'. But people tell me that I'm too frequent (????). i dont think it's like a DISORDER that you change your sheets EOD, i think it's personal preference, but your friend is right, you will go through more sheets more quickly this way. Don't lose sleep over this one
Don't worry man. It's fine. I also change my sheets every other day, mainly because I have allergies to dust. So it is important for me to wash and change my sheets.
Wow. Don't you get tired of putting on sheets all the time?

Are you having alot of sex? Then ok. But, otherwise I think that is a bit obsessive.

Most people change their sheets one a week....
I'd trade my kid for you in a heartbeat. His room always smells like someone had been murdered in there. You can't be too clean now, can you?
It's okay to change them every other day, but that's a little to much. But the like the with the allergies, if that's the case then yea you should change them every other day. Other than that you really don't need to, once in a while is fine, but don't wait until your bed starts to smell like road kill!

Why do the bed sheets turn color on my boyfriends side???

serious question. The side of the bed were my boyfriend sleeps the sheets turn like a darker color just like his pillow case and then the actual pillow is yellow when i take the pillow case off. My boyfriend is clean, is it maybe because sometimes he sweats at night. usually men get hot in bed and the women are cold lol. My mom had seen his undershirts once when i was doin laundry and the whites turn almost greyish under the arms like stains that dont bleach out my mom said maybe the color of his skin is coming off lol ( hes black) but there is no way that can be so why the hell is everything turing color! even the new matress cover is yellowish.

serious answers pleaseWhy do the bed sheets turn color on my boyfriends side???
I could be a lot of things but is probably the chemical makeup of his sweat. That could be caused by diet, hormones etc. Some people have more of the chemical than others (I can't remember the name of the chemical) and things he eats, drinks and even smokes can come out in the color of his sweat. He could also have a condition that causes the problem. If it bothers him he could see a dermotologist about it.Why do the bed sheets turn color on my boyfriends side???
That's definitely perspiration. My son has hyperhydrosis, and I have had the same situation with sheets when he was living with me. The only thing I could really do for sheets was to put dark ones on his bed! Other than that, just wash things frequently; it's just a different sort of body chemistry, and there's not necessarily anything you can do about it.
My friend has the same problem. He sweats a lot in bed and his sheets, matress, and (most definately) pillow case changes color.

Just keep changing the sheets regularly. There's mothing really wrong with it. It just sounds like he sweats a lot.
Oils from the skin can be doing it or maybe you just make him so HOT being near you that he can't help it!
    sweat
nightly showers or maybe a health problem or work enviroment could be affecting health or he could come from a long linme of sweaty men
sweat and old from his skin probably
He sweats like he's trying to balance his checkbook. :)
Yes, it is perspiration and body oil and salt from the body. It is normal, although some people have more than others. If he sleeps warm, you might take a blanket off and open a window.
he sweats to much, my idiot husband is the same way, tell him to get a better deodorant and maybe have a fan on his side of the bed at night
The same things happens at my house. It's because they sweat more and it gets onto the sheets and pillow cases. Wash the sheets and pillow cases once a week with your normal soap and Clorox 2 for colors. It's about all you can do.
Because he sweats..it will change the color of material. Have you ever heard the term ';ring around the colar?'; Mens colors get stained from sweat.
    pee?
His sweat is very acidic. He needs to switch to an anti-perspirant that does not leave a white mark on clothes.

I would get a ceiling fan for the bedroom and tell him not to put the covers on. Drink some apple juice 3x a day with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in it. This will turn his body from acid to alkaline. I suggest eating more foods with sulfur in them like canaloupe, watermelon, and honeydew. This natural treatment should lessen the sweating at night.

    I am not kidding!!
He has more toxins in his body!

When the body sweats, it is releasing the toxic chemicals one intakes through, diet, medications, drug habits, and even lotions, body wash, and laundry detergent.

He needs to purify his body through drinking more water, less unnatural beverages, and needs to eat healthier, preferably less MSG, preservatives, coloring, antibiotics, etc...

If that's the small percentage released by his skin, imagine how much damage he's doing to his internal organs!

For more information, check out www.naturalcures.com

    or look for the book:

    ';Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know';

You can find it in your public library!
he must be eating the wrong stuff, so make him eat healthier things and his sweat wont leave stains like that
It is from sweat. He can't really help that... just shower before bed, but even then... it wont always work. My husband is like that and if you find out how to fix it... I'd love to know :)

    Best of luck.
He more than likely sweats at night. Some men shower in the morning some before they sleep. If he showers before bed it is night sweats. If he is a heavy drinker he will sweat it out. Most people think you only sweat when you are hot but the body will also sweat out impurities in the system.
It is sweat , and our bodies have natural oils some more than others so that is what it could be or as for the pillow case I would say it could be what ever he uses in his hair.
Have him wear a teeshirt and boxers to bed - it's like the others said, it's perspiration.
maybe its something he uses.. soap lotion.. probably the lotion.. or maybe its something he puts in his hair.. its gotta be something he is using on his body.. my ex husband used to get yellow stains on his pits of all his tshirts and wife beaters.. and i finally figured out is a chemical in the deodorant he used.. so i made him switch and it was gone... i don't know. good luck though
It is the oil or chemicals in his body.

It can also be the foods that we eat. Does he eat lots of the Asian foods?
Your boyfriend is a sweater at night. So is my husband. I have to change the bedding more frequently and wash the pillows and mattress cover weekly. I also buy new more often. I replace his t-shirts regularly with new. They are great for rags though.
    It's sweat.
    its sweat
Because he sweats more than you do.... or he needs to take a shower before he goes to bed.........
He sweats at night, and the sweat has oils that stick. Wash the sheets more frequently than you normally would, so they don't stain. Also, you could ask him if he is using moisturizers or other lotions that could be rubbing off on the sheets.
sounds like he might be peeing in the bed....

Where do I get 28x67in toddler bed sheets?

Target and Walmart sell Toddler bed sheets in the baby section.Where do I get 28x67in toddler bed sheets?
You could buy some cute fabric and have someone on eBay make them for you (or maybe someone you know who sews).

I have had custom curtains done via eBay and had a great experience. Post your want in the wantitnow section of ebay, be sure to put ';toddler sheets, custom bedding'; in your subject. You could probably also just do a search for custom toddler bedding.
You could try getting a twin set of sheets and the clips that go from corner to corner to hold the sheet on the bed. I had to do that with my son's bed. It works well, and its cheaper than buying custom sheets.
    e bay
thats odd my toddler bed used a crib mattress and crib size sheets
your best bet for this is to buy twin and cut them down to fit

Question about bed sheets, and iphone 3g plans?

Anyone know of a good website to get nice contemporary looking bed sheets for a twin size bed, also at a somewhat decent price?

Also, does anyone know how much the plans for the new iPhone 3G will be? are the going to change from the previous iPhone Plan?Question about bed sheets, and iphone 3g plans?
For the iPhone, the plan will go up $10 per month. Seems like a good deal being that the price of the iPhone itself will go down $200, right? Wrong. An extra $10 per month times 24 months (two-year contract) equals an extra $240 added to the new price of the phone (which is just $200 cheaper). That means that the iPhone + plan will go up $40 from the original price. Just a comment.

As for the bed sheets, target has a nice selection of decently priced sheets.Question about bed sheets, and iphone 3g plans?

And also, would espresso tv stand match???What color bed sheets would match my room?
If your going to stick to the black and cherry theme I would go with Burgundy sheets. No the espresso wouldn't work unless you want to go with dark brown tones which doesn't really do anything with black. Burgundy it is.What color bed sheets would match my room?
    uhh black and white
I think maybe a tanish coler or even white sheets. I dont think the tv stand would match if your going for a black and cherry. they have black ones.
it sounds sophisticated so i vote for off white or extremely light celery. i think your tv stand will match
    Yellow would look good.
You should get wine red or black bedsheets and a black tv stand should match pretty well

Better order them or print yourself.Bed sheets where can I find bed sheets with George Bush on them?
Have you tried any on line stores in usa?
You might call a specialty screen printer and have them done special order.
Buy some and get it customised.
You could just put an iron on transfer of any image of him that you can find with a search engine. Use special transfer paper from an office supply or craft/hobby store. Download the pics you want and print them on the special paper with ordinary ink. Then iron them on wherever you want. You could do pillow cases to match and use any number of different images. You can also print more than one image on a page depending on size and cut them out to separate them. Just remember that the image will be mirrored when finished. You may be able to print a mirror image on the paper to correct this, if you have that capability. The paper will come with instructions. It's very easy to do and you can use any color or size sheets (or even the ones you already have).
Take pictures of him from the Internet and print them onto iron-on printing paper. Then you iron them on, where you want them.

How often should i clean bed sheets?

we have a jack russell and he doesnt sleep in the bed with us over night but he does sleep in the bed sometimes before we put him in his cage over night and my husband plays with him on the bed and he sheds quite a bit (if you could tell me how to stop that too it would be great?)How often should i clean bed sheets?
Brushing your dog on a daily basis at least a couple times a day cuts down on the shedding and also dogs that are not getting proper nutrients will have a tendency to shed a lot . If your dog sleeps on your bed a lot and leaves hair I would change the sheets often since dander can be a trigger to those with allergies and asthma. Also bathing your dog often will help since it cuts down the body soil dogs leave when they sleep on something. How often should i clean bed sheets?
i would wash bedding every week. the sheding brush daily or every other day playing on the bed just tell to get off but that takes some training
You can get some good anti shedding shampoos now at the pet shop or at most department stores. A good brushing about twice a week will cut down on alot of it too. As for the sheets, I wash mine once about every two weeks.
There was an Oprah show about all the little beg bugs you can't see on sheets, curtains, etc. If you saw this episode, you'd want to make sure you're washing your sheets at least every 2 weeks. I change my sheets every week b/c I saw what would happen if you don't!

Believe me, the dog hair isn't the worst of it, there's a million parasites all over! Gives me the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it.
It probably is a matter of what you can tolerate. I wash ours once a week. If I had animals on the bed I would do it more often.

The daily brushing will eliminate most of the hair problems.

I happen to really prefer clean sheets.
First off, a dog has no place in the master's bedroom! Put the dog and the master outside!

Then, if you shower daily I would say once a week.

I'm not going to ask you your personals but you can make that adjustment based on the facts!
I let my Boston Terrier sleep with me (she doesn't shed much) and I still only washed my sheets once a week. Most of the time the dog laid on top of the comforter anyway. But if your sheets don't seem fresh, it only takes a short time to put the sheets in the washer and dry while you are making dinner.

There are many products available that claim to stop shedding. I have never found one that works well. As long as the dog is healthy enough, the shedding is probably just something that you have to put up with.
    at least every 2 weeks
I say once a week for sheets and pillow cases.

And I'd toss the bedspead in the dryer with a dryer sheet every other week.
depends on how often you have sex...
You might get a dust cover for the bed. That way the dog's hair (and other unseen ';things';) will not get on to the sheets. Take the dust cover off just before you get into bed. Then washing the sheets every two weeks should be fine.
I suggest cleaning the sheets at least once every two weeks(that's what a cleaning expert said on TV) but if you have a dog on the bed and stuff, you should probably clean them every week. As for the dog, brush him 3-4 times a week, and wash him with special shampoo for shedding. good luck!

  • Can I use regular bed sheets to make a quilt?

My boys always get so hot and I wanted to make a cute lightweight quilt for their twin beds. They never use the top sheet and so I thought I would try to make a quilt out of the top sheets. Can I use regular bed sheets to make a quilt?
Yes quilts can be made out of sheets. You could get 4 sets of twin sheets (2 different patterns) use the bottom sheets to rotate during laundry. Put a layer of thin batting, thin blanket or another old sheet between the two different sheets. You will wind up with a reversible quilts and two bottom sheets for each bed -- they will always match no matter how they make their bed!Can I use regular bed sheets to make a quilt?
No problem! You can make it easier and just get two sheets, sew them together (wrong sides out, the flip so the right sides are out) and go with that. You can also add batting the in the middle. My daughter sleeps under an empty duvet cover and a sheet during the summer. And if you make it out of sheets, it will be easy to throw into the washer whenever needed!
Sure, that would work fine. People make quilts out of any type of fabric. Often, people use a sheet for the backing on a quilt, so why not the top too.
That's a great idea. I did this once over 25 years ago.

Every 4 months? yuck! Think of it this way. Do you wear the same PJ's or pants for 4 months without washing them (now I'm hoping that you don't. lol)? You spend hours in bed sweating and doing other stuff! Consider washing them much more frequently! Are you really meant to wash your bed sheets weekly or is someone pulling my leg?
if i was in the bed on my own then it would be every 2 weeks but my partner is a very sweaty person when he's asleep so i have to change them twice aweek!i dont mind wahing them, its the ironing i hate!get your sheets changed.
    You dirty stinking sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    weekly
    20 days ideal
IT DOSENT MATTER HOW OFTEN U WASH YOUT BED SHEET BUT U NEED TO CHANGE THEM AT LEASE ONCE A WEEK.... DIFFERENT CLEAN SHEET EVERY WEEK........
    you are GROSS!!!

wash them twice a week like i do!!! xx
u need to be washing them at least once a week and your towels should be washed every time you use them eugh i cant believe u are serious how often do you clean the rest of your house like polish or hoover.
My GF changes them and washes them every week.
wash them weekly and towels after every use. well i do
Normally 2-3 weeks and more often during summer. I hope you sleep alone.
at least twice a week or just change them every week for clean ones and wash the lot every two weeks and flip the mattress every week also that's 8 clean areas to sleep on for 8 weeks also vacum it the side you previously slept on
Oprah had one of her shows on that exact subject. She said she washes her sheets every three days. She got those experts that took the sheets and pillow cases of several peoples beds, after just the first time we sleep on them the skin flake and all the exam through the microscope showed all sorts of things running around on them they come to eat the skin flakes , dandruff and what ever. So it's what ever you don't mind sleeping with as to how long you wait to have clean sheets.
I wash mine every three weeks.
every couple of weeks 4 months is a bit gross
every week it should be done because of bed bug.. they are real ........ they eat all your dead skin cells... so your just giving them a breeding haven and feast!
well, technically, I think you should be washing them more often than that, BUT... You could compromise...Throw baby powder on them whenever they become sticky.
I wash mine about once a year, if I wash them at all. I usually wait till they get real dirty and then I throw them away, and buy a fresh set.
EEWWWW...YOU ARE CERTAINLY AN ANIMAL IN BED....A DIRTY PIG THAT IS....THEY SAY YOU LOOSE A PINT OF SWEAT/FLUIDS WHILST YOU SLEEP...YOU SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH THERE TO HAVE A BATH IN IT AS WELL SEEING AS YOU SEEM TO BE ECONOMIZING.....DISGUSTING...I WOULDNT LIKE TO LIVE NEXT DOOR TO YOU NEVER MIND SHARE YOUR SLEEPING SPACE!!!!!
Did you know the average person emits a pint of sweat each night in bed? If you are happy to wear underpants and socks for five or six days in a row then wash you sheets fortnightly or less, otherwise every week should be the minimum at least! People who suffer from skin conditions should do so at least twice a week.
Eww, you are kidding right...I take it you're single..?!

Mine get done every week and my towels get washed after one use, my boyfriend complains if he doesn't havea crispy clean bed to get into after a hard days work!! x

Wash your sheets you mucky boy!!
Wash them when they stink, leave them when they don't. It's so easy.
Every 2 weeks should be ok, and the towels should be done weekly.
That's disgusting!!! You should change your sheets once a week especially during summertime and then maybe every other week in the cooler months
I clean my sheets weekly to ever other week depending on what was going on that week. Bath towels are washed once a week also. The cost of a load of laundry for liquid runs me about .09 cents to .12 cents - I do not put fabric softener into my towels (because your towels will not absorb water well with fabric softener in them).
Well, would you wear the same article of clothing everyday for a month? No! So why would you not want your bed linens just as clean? Yes, once a week is normal for bed linens. That's how I do it. It's just good hygiene and sanitary. The sheets are filled with your body oils, dead skin cells, and whatever else. There are bed bugs to consider and dust mites as well. Why would you not want a clean bed? To each his own, but I prefer to be clean and sleep in a clean bed!

As for your comment on the bath towel, I would have to say use it twice...then get a new one. You may be clean when you step out of the shower, but you are depositing dead skin cells when you dry off. I myself only use it twice for that reason and sometimes that is once too many. No, I'm not a clean freak...just clean!
i know, some go right over the top......i wash, change clothes and shave twice a year, more than enough..............I'm still single, but still hoping...................
Yes it is true you should wash your bed sheets once a week perferably and you should never go any longer then two weeks, and you should always use hot water when washing them .
i only clean when i have to. that includes only bathing once a year.
I wash my sheets weekly, pillow cases are about every 3 days. I also do towels daily.

My great aunt told me once I was vulgarly clean. I thought it a great compliment.
Yes, you are MEANT to do it. It is preordained. There is no free will. You wash your sheets weekly, yes you do.

How often should I wash my bed sheets & why?

once a week because as you sleep, most people sweat and lose lots of skin cells, hair and you can get bugs from not washing them.

They should be washed in at least warm water, but HOT is better with detergent and liquid bleach for COLORS, and if you want some fabric softener. How often should I wash my bed sheets %26amp; why?
Once a week, like every Saturday or so. Also keeps bed bugs from clogging up your respiratory system and giving you some kind of bronchitis, (respiratory problems)., EVERYBODY has bed bugs, but washing sheets is one way of controlling them., not to mention the first answer among others ';so they and you don't stink';.How often should I wash my bed sheets %26amp; why?
once a week to get rid of dead skin %26amp; oils.
At least once a week to get rid of the oil, sweat and dead skin cells that build up on them.

Also turn your pillow over either every night or when you wash your hair. Once you've slept on both sides change it and put a fresh cover on.

Try and air your blankets/doonas every couple of months. Just hang them on the line in the sun to air out and the sun will kill any germs on them and freshen them up a bit.
I guess it depends on how dirty you get the sheets.
I personally wash all sheets in the house once a week just so they are fresh and clean..but the longest I have gone is 2 weeks.
    I AGREE WITH ZSA ZSA
at least once a week or more often if they are stinky or stained
id say once a week is fine for basic hygiene
You're kidding, right? Once a week.... to get them clean.
at least 1 a week so they do not smell.
Like everyone else, I wash my sheets once a week. Everything I have ever read says to try %26amp; wash or change sheets weekly. If you can't, they advise to at least change pillowcases, as they carry most of the germs %26amp; bacteria, due to nightly close contact. Here's some interesting info on sheet care:

    1. No Dry Cleaning - What a Relief

When we think of taking good care of our sheets, or linens for that matter, it's easy to assume that means dry cleaning. But that's not the case.

';You may think that you're taking care of your sheets by having them dry cleaned, but you're really not because you can control what's done to them at home a lot more easily,'; Jesseman said.

Plus, you don't want those dry cleaning chemicals close to your body, as Jesseman added.

Just check the label of your sheets before washing at home to make sure dry cleaning isn't required.

    2. Use a Front Loading Washing Machine

If you're considering a new washing machine, make it a front loader.

    ';Front loading washers are a wonderful thing, and everything will last longer if you use them because they are much more gentle,'; Jesseman said. ';They don't have the agitator in the middle.';

Plus, front-loading washing machines give you a nice flat surface to fold laundry after line drying or air tumbling. See tip 8 and 9.

    3. Cool Water is Best

You might be tempted to crank up the heat on your laundry because you think it will make them extra clean, but cranking up the heat shortens the life of more than bacteria. It shortens the life of your sheets.

    ';Stay away from hot, hot water,'; Jesseman said. ';You can use lukewarm. That's fine. But hot water is very harsh on the fibers, hard on the colors and will shorten the lifespan of your sheets.';

So keep your water on cold, and your sheets will be happy.

    4. Use a Gentle Cycle

As with anything you love, a gentle touch is always best. Set your washer on the gentle cycle, and your sheets will thank you.

';You don't need a lot of agitation,'; Jesseman said.

    5. Stay Away from Bleach

It may be easy to reach for the bleach when you're confronted with a tough stain, but that's a bad idea according to Jesseman. Bleach breaks down the fibers of the sheets, which will weaken them over time.

If you really need a powerful agent to fight stains, oxygen bleaches are okay. Before using an oxygen bleach, test it on a corner to make sure it won't remove any color, Jesseman suggests.

    6. Use a Mild Soap without the Extras

Forget about those hyped up detergents. When it comes to choosing the best laundry soap, look for one that's plain and simple.

';You want to use a mild detergent or soap - something that doesn't have any whiteners or brighteners and probably that has minimal fragrance or coloring to it,'; Jesseman said.

    7. Dissolve the Soap Before the Sheets Go In

After a few times of getting white spots on your sheets, you quickly learn to completely dissolve the soap in water before putting your sheets in. While that isn't such a problem for those with front-loading washers, it is with top loading ones. So be careful. Always check to make sure the detergent completely dissolve before throwing the sheets in. And you might not want to thro them in. Maybe gently toss is a better idea.

    8. Too Much - in the Washer - is a Very Bad Thing

When being washed, sheets need room to, well, be washed. So don't try to stuff everything in at once.

';If you have a king sized bed and you have sheets and maybe a lot of pillowcases and a duvet, don't try to put all it into the washing machine at once,'; Jesseman said.

Break your linens into separate loads so less stress is put on the washing machine and your sheets.

    9. Become a Fan of Line Drying

Line drying may not be an option for everyone, but if you can, you should.

    ';A lot of the reason people's sheets will wear out is because of the dryer,'; Jesseman said. ';All of that lint that you see in your dryer, that's your clothing or sheets coming apart. It's actually the sheet fabric breaking down. ... When you hang it outside that doesn't happen.';

If you don't have a place outside to hang your sheets, Jesseman suggests hanging them over your shower curtain or installing bars in your laundry room specifically used for drying laundry.

While hanging your sheets inside can be convenient, it may be worth putting them outside to dry.

';If you line dry your sheets, the wind will blow most of the wrinkles out of them so you never have to worry about ironing,'; Jesseman said.

    10. If You Must Use a Dryer, Air Tumble

Line drying isn't for everyone - especially those in a rush. So if you find yourself short on time, use the air tumble setting on your dryer.

    ';You just want to fluff dry [your sheets],'; Jesseman said. ';You don't want to use really any heat, and always try to take them out of the dryer before they are bone dry, before they feel hot and dry. Because again that's hard on the fibers and they'll break down faster.';

After taking your sheets out when still damp, Jesseman suggests spreading them on your bed to finish drying.

Then fold them up and put them in your linen closet.
