What exactly is ';sateen'; fabric in reference to bed sheets?

it's a cotton satin. ';Satin'; is a fabric weave (rather than a fiber), which leaves long threads ';floating'; on the right side of the fabric. That makes the fabric smooth and silky and nice against your skin.What exactly is ';sateen'; fabric in reference to bed sheets?
as above-- and usually has a higher thread to inch count. i.e. 500.

Fake Satin.
Like satin. Cotton, or sometimes rayon. They brushed the fabric to give it a satin feel and look.
