What's the best way to remove blood stains from a period on my bed sheets?

Just wondering if I could remove some obvious stains from a light blue bedsheet or just have to buy a new one. I'm quite upset about this because I'm not even a girl. Thanks for the help. What's the best way to remove blood stains from a period on my bed sheets?
Oxyclean works wonders. (It may have hydrogen peroxide in it, which would explain why it works so well for EVERYTHING, including blood.) You need a container big enough to have the sheet in it and enough water to submerge the sheet. For every gallon of water, I would use two scoops of the Oxyclean and mix well, especially if you're trying to take out old blood stains. Get the sheet wet with the water mixture and then scrub that spot between your hands or with a scrubby brush. Do that several times until you don't see any of the blood being removed, and then let the sheet soak for a day or two. It takes a little time, but it's very worth it. Once you're ready to wash, throw the whole bucket's worth of water and sheet into the wash, add detergent and whatever other items in. Don't use hot water, and when you're pulling the items out to dry, check the sheet and then restart the process if necessary. I've never had to do this more than one time.

I like Oxyclean the best because it is safe for every color and every fabric that I've owned.... I just use more or less of it depending on the type of fabric and the type of stain. It's great to use in regular laundry cycles, too, because it brightens without using bleach, and if I remember the label correctly, it's biodegradable, which is nice for the environment, too. :)What's the best way to remove blood stains from a period on my bed sheets?
if in Australia, soak in napisan.

if in UK, soak in vanish.

- go to your local supermarket if you don't have these at home, they'll be by the washing detergents.
Blood stains in clothing need to be removed as soon as possible. Use cold water and wash out the stain. Hot water will set the blood and it will be difficult or impossible to get out.

The following is a suggestion sent via e-mail from ';R';. Thank you for your addition to this page!

';Hydrogen peroxide is the absolute best for removing blood stains. The fresher the easier of course, but even dried blood comes out with a little effort. The hydrogen peroxide seems to do no damage to any fabric I've tried it on.';

Another suggestion from Wanda is to use Adolph's unseasoned meat tenderizer. Rinse in cold water, then sprinkle on the tenderizer and let sit for awhile and rinse again. May have to be repeat
spray it good with shout and wash it in cold water...
Use hydrogen peroxide as it will cause the blood to bubble up out of the fibers in the sheet. If there is any left after perxoide treatment, take spray and wash or fabric stain treatment and a toothbrush and scrub to work it down into the fibers, rinse and retreat until the blood is gone. Then wash as normal.
Peroxide is what we use at work and on our uniforms. It may take a few soakings if the sheet has already been washed and dried. Then when most of it is gone, use Oxyclean in the wash
Soak in cold water and then after soaking a while scup with soap
cold water + peroxide. or try some OxyClean.
Run cold water through stains, pretreat with detergent, wash on cold, Check for lingering stains, if there are any use hydrogen peroxide.

If the sheets are cotton it should come out fairly easily the first time.

Don't put in the dryer until you are satisfied with the sheet or it will set. If it has set, there are little bottles of speciality stain removers in the grocery aisle you can try.
Try soaking them in salty water followed by your normal wash cycle.

When you soak them pour salt in the water as well as directly onto the stained area (don't worry about using too much) a lot of the blood will come out immediately.

The salt method is exceptionally good if used immediately, however, the longer you leave it the harder it will be to get rid of it so try some vanish products as well (I have used the vanish soap bar before and that works)
take the bed sheet and prepare a big bucket and clorax. and put clorax into the bucket and then water. leave it for a day and put your blue bed sheet into the bucket. then wait another day. and it will be gone or mostly it will be gone.
Soak in warm salt water do not use boiling water as it will set the stain
Toothpaste will solve all blood related problems -baking Soda that is. Also it hides bullet holes in walls well, two problems one solution.
Never wash and dry stained articles before pre treating. If you dry them and all of it is not gone, it sort of sets the stain.

Before wetting the sheet, soak the stain in Hydrogen Peroxide. It will bubble away the stain. (if it is large it may take some time.

Then wash with a stain remover plus your regular detergent.

We use it all the time in the hospital if blood splashes on us... which we try to avoid at all cost!

If all else fails, just dye the sheet with another color.

Good luck!
Blood stains...... Cold water..... @
Well buddy, you'll have to buy new sheets, but in the future wear Depends.
Try and squeeze some Shout stain remover, HEAVILY, onto the spots and run it normally through the washer. If they won't come out, then they definitely won't, no matter how hard you try. Buy a new sheet.
