How often do you wash your bed sheets?

I take a shower before I go sleep every night and I have been washing my sheets about once every 2 months. I figured since I take a shower before bed it was okay but should I be washing them more? I wash my pillow case every week but the rest of the sheets every couple months or so.How often do you wash your bed sheets?
Honestly, about bi-monthly. If I think there's any chance I might bring a friend home, I'll wash them the day before. The comforter gets cleaned at the end of winter. I'll wash blankets and bedspreads as often as I wash the sheets.How often do you wash your bed sheets?
My comforter is too big for me to wash, so I have to have it dry cleaned. I make it a point to fold the top back when I sleep so my body's not really on it, and I also shake it out weekly. I also spray it with a hypoallergenic febreeze spray. If I am sick, then I take it to the cleaner's and have to let it air out before I feel safe using it. I wash my sheets every week after seeing the Oprah special on the topic. The guy she interviewed said to wash them every week and to vacuum your mattress every week, too. I have a microallergen mattress cover which prevents gross stuff from getting into it, but I take it off to wash it and I vacuum my mattress, too. I don't vacuum and change the cover often--maybe every couple of months? Change your pillow every 6 mos and get a cover for it so your wet hair doesn't create a mold problem in your pillow.
I change mine weekly but up to 2 weeks is fine. I'm from the UK, we use duvets and duvet covers. I wash the duvet cover, bottom sheet and pillow slips weekly, the duvet is washed every 6 months (when changed from winter to summer weight). 2 months is really too long to leave your bedding unwashed, it doesn't take long to do.
I have two sets of sheets and blankets, and switch them out weekly.





A comforter I'll wash whenever weird things get on it [I have 3 dogs that sleep with us] which may be as often as once a week, but usually more like every 2 or 3 weeks. Typically we don't sleep with a comforter though.
I also do the once or twice a week changing sheets on the bed. I wash my comforter a couple of times a month.


You may not have the smell since you shower every night, but there are dust mites that you cant see.
I wash mine weekly, and I have a comforter cover so I wash that weekly as well, as for the down comforter I wash it once a year at the laundromat.
