I would like to make my own bed sheets & comforter; Where can I get WIDE fabric?

The bed in mind is Queen sized... any suggestions are appreciated!I would like to make my own bed sheets %26amp; comforter; Where can I get WIDE fabric?
Normal rolls of fabric come 54'; wide. I am a designer and the only fabric that is really out there that is larger than that is 112'; wide but it is always sheer fabric. I would use the 54'; and seam it. For your sheets you'll have to find them at the store. There are no accessable fabrics to purchase much bigger than 54';.I would like to make my own bed sheets %26amp; comforter; Where can I get WIDE fabric?
all the patterns i have seen use more than one piece for a comforter and i am not sure about a sheet. i know you could piece them but that might be uncomfortable normal is 48'; wide and i know you can get 64'; which would be 6' 2'; just look in the fabric store and look at pattern packages for a good one i use a butterrick pattern and you can look them up online also try mccalls(sp) you can also look in the big books at the fabric store for the current patterns. and wait for the sales so you can get them for like a dollar
try walmart and if not michaels or joannes
Have you tried the market stalls in your town. Its great as the sell it on a roll which is very wide. They have all kinds of fabric, especially calico material that would be ideal for sheets.
wide fabric? I think you just need to get it by the yard and sew it
I'm not sure it comes any larger than a yard...if I were you, I would look under fabric in the yellow pages of your phone book and start calling places and asking them.
yardage town in mira mesa or any yardage town TNT im dynomite!!! pow!
Try a quilting supply store or mail order , I know they have material wide enough for quilt backs.
Decorator fabric that is easily available comes in 54'; wide rolls. It is available at stores like Hobby Lobby, Hancocks fabric, JoAnn's, Calico Corners, etc. For a queen bed, at least for the comforter or duvet cover, I would use one 54'; wide piece for the top, you will have a seam for the sides (the drop), I would add a cording to separate the two and it adds a little flare to the top. As for sheets, I don't know where you can get fabric that wide, personally with the price of fabric now days, I would buy the sheets!
there are stores specifically meant for home fabrics that are wider
try the local arts and crafts store, or walmart, or sams...or the flea market, stuff like that
Any fabric store like JoAnn Fabric should have every kind of fabric made available....you wont be able to make it from just one piece in most cases because factorys that make sheets generally make their own custom fabric.
I know where you can get wide fabric! Go to big lots!
you might want to try Hancock fabrics. i have been there many times and i think that they have really wide fabrics in many different colors and patterns.
